Former Sheriff Arrested
Louisiana Man Charged with Misappropriating Public Funds HOUSTON, TEX. Jan. 18—Sheriff B. F. Bailey of Winn Parish, Louisiana, arrived in the city this morning after ex-Sheriff W. J. SOWERS of his parish, and will return with him during the evening. Mr. Sowers was arrested a week ago by Sheriff Anderson on the charge of having embezzled money while in office.

09 Aug 1913 Mrs Mary Durbin, aged 21 years and wife of Scott Durbin, a bride of last January, died at home of her parents Mr & Mrs Orland Twigg, 40 Independence Street, last night due to Tuberculosis. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by these brothers and sisters; Roman Twigg, Riley E Twigg, George W Twigg, Claude E Twigg, Mrs Rebecca Sowers, Mrs Julie A Leasure; Mrs Matilda Hartman- all of Cumberland; burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
