She died January 25, 1916 in Ameliasburg, Prince Edward.

Lot 70 Con 1, Amelisburgh was purchased by James' father William from George Cunningham who received it from King George III in 1803.

Established a cheese factory called the "Bayside Cheese factory" in 1870, built a ferry boat (with captain Porte) in 1879 called "The Mary Ethel", raised purebred Percheron horses and patened several appliances.
