Notes for Frances "Fannie" Jane TAYLOR:
Left Wales at 6 yrs old.
Two of my "Roberts" cousins, Jean and Louise, remember our Grandmother, Fanny Jane Roberts, nee Taylor, speaking of a ship, "Our Sally", a sealer perhaps, 3? masts,------?? Have you any ideas about research of such things--ownership, captain, date of registration---?
Fanny Jane Taylor married Lemuel Roberts, (born in Brigus, Feb. 25, 1849). He was a school teacher in various places including Belleoram. Lemuel's father was Thomas Roberts*, born in Brigus. Lemuel and Fanny Jane and children, (including my Dad), moved to Belleville, Ontario, sometime after June 22, 1889, (date of birth of my uncle Cecil in Belloram, NF, and April 10, 1893, when my aunt Florence was born in Belleville, ON. My grandfather, Lemuel, died Feb. 21, 1917, and grandmother, Fanny Jane, moved to Kingston where she lived with her daughter, Florence, until her death, June 23, 1946. During those years, Florence's six children were growing up with Grandma Roberts, (as I called her) right in their home and recall her dearly.
Jean (Kingston) and Louise (near Halifax) are the eldest of the six.The next, the only brother, has died, as has Eleanor. That leaves Nancy and Marnie.
*Thomas Roberts was known as Captain Tom. Perhaps "Our Sally" was his ship?? I hope you can help with this.
